Affordable Study Options at Many Public Universities

Germany can offer comparatively affordable higher education, particularly at public universities.

According to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), most public universities generally do not charge tuition fees for international students studying bachelor’s and many master’s programmes. Students usually pay a semester contribution, which varies by university and is typically around €72-€440 per semester.

💡 Plan beyond tuition

DAAD estimates average student living expenses in Germany at around €990/month. Students should also plan for accommodation, health insurance, semester contributions and other living costs.
